A scientific conference and photo exhibition "The Great Silk Road: from Asia to Anatolia" was held at the Institute of International Relations

On May 15, 2018 at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan there held the scientific conference and photo exhibition "The Great Silk Road: from Asia to Anatolia", organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan jointly with the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Turkmenistan in honor of the announcement of 2018 as the Year "Turkmenistan - the heart of the Great Silk Road".

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Turkmenistan Mustafa Kapuju, Professor of Ataturk University, Dr. Ali Kafkasiyaly, delegation of the Turkish Republic, as well as teachers and students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan attended the conference.

Speakers at the conference spoke in detail about the historical roots of the relationship between Turkmenistan, considered the heart of the Great Silk Road and the Republic of Turkey, the history of the Great Silk Road, its current significance and role in the future, as well as Turkmenistan's transport diplomacy.

Professor of Ataturk University, Dr. Ali Kafkasiyaly noted in his speech that the Great Silk Road, uniting more than 60 countries, promoted the mutual enrichment of languages, religions and cultures, and through it silk and various goods were traded. He stressed that all international initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan concerning the Great Silk Road, find great support from the Turkish Republic.

All speakers at the conference expressed their wishes for further expansion of cooperation in the field of science and education, as well as strengthening friendly and fraternal relations between the two states.
