The meeting with Vatican Ambassador in Turkmenistan

On September 25, 2018, there was a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with Paul Russell, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (with residence in Ankara) of Vatican to Turkmenistan, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit.

In the course of the meeting, speaking about bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and city-state Vatican, the parties positively assessed the existing level of cooperation between the two countries. Having expressed satisfaction over present bilateral relations, the participants underlined the necessity to activate cooperation in future. Vatican Ambassador expressed support to the neutrality status and international initiatives of Turkmenistan and noted readiness to further support these initiatives.

At the end of the meeting the parties emphasized the importance of continuing the established dialogue at various levels to further diversify fruitful cooperation. The parties expressed confidence that, such meetings will ensure further development of mutual beneficial cooperation in all directions between Turkmenistan and Vatican.
