TURKMENISTAN – US BILATERAL POLITICAL CONSULTATIONS HAVE FINISHED

On October 26, 2018, the MFA of Turkmenistan and the US delegation headed by Ms. Emilia Puma – Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau for South and Central Asia continued to hold Turkmenistan – US bilateral political consultations.

The parties have discussed matters related to cooperation in economy, environmental protection, energy, water management and regional integration. Participants have pointed out energy, transport, communications, agriculture sector and export promotion (goods and raw materials) as areas for further cooperation in the future.

It has been proposed to activate relations in the spheres of science and education, as well as in innovative technologies.

In addition to that, the parties have discussed the opportunities of activating cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries, based on proposals made during the joint business forum in New York.

At the end of meeting, the parties have expressed satisfaction over current situation in cooperation and underlined the importance of organizing regular meetings at different levels to further deepen mutual beneficial relations.
