Meeting with the UNAMA delegation was held at the MFA of Turkmenistan

On the 4th of February 2019, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the delegation headed by Tadamichi Yamamoto, UN Secretary-General Special Representative for Afghanistan and Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan that arrived to our country on a working visit.

 During the meeting, the parties stressed the importance of reaching peace and settlement in the brotherly country as a model of Turkmenistan’s unchanging unity with neighboring Afghanistan in the framework of the foreign policy based on the principles of good-neighborliness and constructive international cooperation. It was noted that the actions carried out in this sphere in accordance with the international legal regulations adopted by the UN coherently suit the efforts of the international community.

In addition, the parties discussed the opportunities of active involvement of Afghanistan in large-scale projects implemented on global level, primarily in the Central Asian region as well as activating work on establishing peace and security in the country.

At the conclusion, the delegation expressed its satisfaction with Turkmenistan’s bilateral mutual cooperation in the framework of international organizations on the development of Afghanistan’s social and economic infrastructure, as well as ensuring realization of comprehensive activities aimed at providing peaceful life for the people of Afghanistan.
