The new book of the President of Turkmenistan "Turkmenistan - Home of Neutrality" is published

On December 11, 2020, the presentation of the new book of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Turkmenistan - Home of Neutrality” was held in the premises of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The publication of the book has become a unique gift for the 25th anniversary of the permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan and the International Day of Neutrality.

Opening the event, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov noted that the publication of a new book by the head of state is an important foreign policy event. This work, containing extensive information about the history and current developments of Turkmenistan, its foreign policy and diplomacy, as well as the deep conceptual ideas about international relations and world politics, is a rich source for the world community from the scientific, historical and philosophical point of view.

The event was also attended by the diplomat Vladimir Goryayev, Permanent Coordinator of the UN in Turkmenistan Yelena Panova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Turkmenistan Diego Ruiz Alonso, and via video conferencing the Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Satoshi Nakanishi.

Speaking during the presentation, Vladimir Goryayev noted that he personally participated in the development of historic Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly of 1995 “On Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan,” which has become an unprecedented event in the history of the Organization. He noted that the book of the President of Turkmenistan unfolds the essence of the positive Neutrality policy.

In his speech, the Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Satoshi Nakanishi highly appraised the Japanese-Turkmen relations and highlighted the important contribution of the President of Turkmenistan to the promotion of peaceful relations between the world countries.

There was also a speech by the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Kasymguly Babayev, who emphasized the importance of the principles of neutrality in strengthening the country's legislative base, expanding interstate and inter-parliamentary relations at the regional and international levels.

 Ms.Yelena Panova, Resident Coordinator of the UN in Turkmenistan, noted the uniqueness of this work of the President of Turkmenistan, which informs readers about the humane values inherent to the neutral policy of Turkmenistan.

The Chairwoman of the Central Council of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan, Gurbangyul Atayeva underlined the importance of the given work of the President of Turkmenistan where the role of women in the establishment of Turkmen statehood is emphasized.

In his speech, Diego Ruiz Alonso, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union to Turkmenistan, spoke about the importance of the neutral policy pursued by the President of Turkmenistan, which contributes to strengthening of peace, stability and development in the region and beyond.

 The participants of the presentation noted that the book “Turkmenistan - Home of Neutrality” enables to assess the importance of the initiatives and activities of Turkmenistan in maintaining peace, security and sustainable development in the world since gaining the status of permanent Neutrality embedded in the relevant resolutions of the UN General Assembly of 1995 and 2015.

The book consists of 10 chapters, which contain information on the history of Turkmen Neutrality, its role in international political and economic processes, and in strengthening cultural and humanitarian relations. The book also contains the speeches of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov at international conferences and forums. A separate chapter contains historical documents adopted at the international level.

In the new book, the Head of State quotes many wise sayings inviting to peacefulness, good neighborliness, justice and solidarity, which is consonant with the principles of permanent Neutrality and global values.

At the end of the event, the participants of the presentation adopted the Address to the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
