Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Meets with U.S. Secretary of State at the White House

On May 29, 2026, a meeting was held at the White House in Washington, D.C., between Rashid Meredov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and Marco Rubio, Secretary of State of the United States of America.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for the further development of Turkmenistan-U.S. cooperation across a wide range of areas.

The sides noted with satisfaction the recent intensification of bilateral political and diplomatic dialogue and emphasized the importance of maintaining regular contacts at senior and high levels.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in trade and economic affairs, energy, transport, and connectivity. In this context, the sides underscored the importance of expanding mutually beneficial partnership, including in the areas of energy security and diversification of energy supply routes.

The meeting also addressed cooperation in regional security, countering current challenges and threats, as well as interaction within multilateral formats, including the C5+1 platform.

The sides noted the significant potential for further development of bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed their mutual interest in continuing constructive dialogue on all areas of shared interest.
