THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE TURKMEN-AMERICAN BUSINESS COUNCIL WAS HELD IN ASHGABAT
On December 14, 2017 a meeting of the Turkmen-American Business Council was held in the capital hotel "Archabil", within the framework of which new approaches to realization of the potential of bilateral cooperation and development of trade economic relations, business ties and scientific and technical partnership were determined.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Turkmen-American Business Council, as well as leading American companies such as Westport Trading Europe, Elizarov Consulting Group, Oxbow Sulfur, General Electric, John Deere, Nicklaus Design, Boeing, Coca cola, Fedex Institute of Memphis University and others. From the Turkmen side, the leaders and specialists of the sectoral ministries and departments, banking and scientific institutions, the city administration of Ashgabat, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, took part in the forum.
The meeting of the Business Council was held in three parts: the first panel discussion was devoted to discussing current conditions for the development of the fuel and energy complex, as well as cooperation in the transport sector. During the second discussions, the results of research in the agro-industrial complex and the application of advanced technologies in the food industry of Turkmenistan were considered. The third section was devoted to the issues of education and development of the tourism industry.
The participants of the meeting noted the importance of such business meetings, which have become an effective mechanism for promoting trade and economic cooperation, joint projects, activation of productive ties in various fields and intensification of investment activities.
US businessmen also held a number of bilateral meetings with representatives of the ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, including in the fuel and energy sector, agriculture, where special attention was paid to the implementation of high-tech joint projects aimed at further expanding and deepening mutually beneficial Turkmen-American cooperation.
