TURKMENISTAN TOOK PART IN THE XX MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF HEADS OF GOVERNMENT OF THE SCO MEMBER STATES

On November 25, 2021, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan S. Berdimuhamedov on the digital system took part in the XX jubilee meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the member states of Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

During the meeting, issues of developing cooperation within the SCO were discussed. Particular attention was paid to deepening the partnership of the member states in the trade, economic, investment and humanitarian spheres, including in the context of overcoming the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.

In his speech, S. Berdimuhamedov conveyed greetings and wishes for successful work on behalf of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to all participants of the meeting, and also expressed gratitude to the Chairman of the XX meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO member states, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan A. Mamin for inviting to participate. The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that this meeting will strengthen cooperation, expand the spheres of interaction, and help each of the states achieve great success in socio-economic development.

As S. Berdimuhamedov emphasized, relations with the SCO are an important direction of the strategy of international partnership for Turkmenistan. He noted the cooperation potential of the Turkmen state in the fields of energy, transport, trade, investments, industry, agriculture, high technologies and innovations. The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers paid special attention to expanding contacts in the transport and humanitarian areas.

The conviction was expressed that the support from the Organization of International Initiatives of Turkmenistan for the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases will contribute to their effective implementation in the interests of the whole world.

In conclusion, the Deputy Prime Minister conveyed to all participants the invitation of the President of Turkmenistan to participate in the International Conference of Ministers of Landlocked Developing Countries, planned to be organized jointly with the UN in April of 2022.
